The Noble Eightfold Path Two-day Meditation Seminar at Toronto Temple

Come on a journey to discover your True Self with self-reflection through the Buddhist teaching of the Eightfold Path in this exclusive two-day meditation seminar. Conducted by our special guest from Japan, Dr. Jiro Imai.

Schedule for this event will be at 1:00-7:00PM on Saturday 31st August and 10:00am-5:00pm on Sunday 1st September (Starts Sat 1pm – ends at 7pm, picks up again Sunday 10am – ends 5pm) at 845 The Queensway (Toronto Temple). Free parking in front and back.

The Eightfold Path is the root of mindfulness – it is a 2,600 year old practice for recognizing your own state of mind, what has caused it to become as it is, and what will happen in the future if you think in a certain way.

By discovering the law of cause and effect governing what we manifest in our life (in work, in health, in relationships etc), we learn to sow the right seeds for the future.

In this seminar, we will practice observing our mind (our thoughts) from eight view points in order to recover the true self – the self that is not hindered or distracted by what is finite and less important than the values that are truly timeless and everlasting.

In this special meditation seminar, you can learn:

  • The true essence of the Noble Eightfold Path from Buddhism by Master Okawa, suitable for the modern age.
  • The Eight View Points: Right View, Right Thought, Right Speech, Right Action, Right Livelihood, Right Effort, Right Mindfulness, Right Concentration.
  • Manage the state of your mind that invites a brighter future in your work, health and relationships.
  • Learn the universal law of cause and effect and how to sow the right seeds.
  • Find peace of mind and how to practice self-reflection and meditation in your daily life.
  • Consult with Dr. Jiro Imai, the head minister or local staff on any life issues or questions about Happy Science or the teachings.
  • Deepen your wisdom and learn from others sharing their experiences.

An example: Right View

“It is important to know how to sort out the visual data that comes to you every day, because it often stirs human emotion. To be able to sort through this, it is necessary to reflect calmly on yourself at the end of a day, breathing deeply and regularly, to find harmony within. When you have reached a state where you can feel one with Buddha and a powerful light is flowing into you through the golden channel that connects you to heaven, you should examine objectively what you saw during the day, looking at yourself as if looking at a total stranger…”
